Silvia Naber (1989) is an ethnographic trend researcher. During the last few years, she specialized herself in filtering, framing and visualizing trends out of today’s society with a focus on our daily life rhythms. With a professional, pragmatic and structural approach, Silvia is capable to conduct complex ethnographic trend research in several fields and at different levels of abstraction. The research is mainly focussed on fundamental trend recognition. The research can serve a wide range of purposes, depending on the nature of the project.

In her last research project – ‘The Story of Eating’ – Silvia focussed on what food means to the inhabitants of the city of Rotterdam. The purpose of this research is to identify tomorrow’s trends in today’s society. ‘The Story of Eating’ reveals the values of the Rotterdammers and gives a sharp insight in what moves and motivates them. Objectively and profound is ‘The Story of Eating’ a journey to the deeper layer underneath an usual and daily activity as eating.

Silvia is graduated in Master of Fashion Strategy at ArtEZ Institute in Arnhem of the Arts. She has a strong affinity with trend research, forecasting and futurizing. Silvia did her In Company Project at VIEW Publications, the company behind (inter alia) the trend forecasting magazines VIEW, VIEWPOINT and PANTONE / VIEW COLOUR PLANNER.Before the Master of Fasion Strategy at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts, Silvia earned a degree of Bachelor of Design at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, with a Minor in collection.
